Join us for our first annual beginning of the year camping kickoff! Our troop will travel to shepherdsville KY to camp shantituck for a two night camp-in! The girls will get an introductory camping experience while we stay the night in the lodge. The girls will help with meal prep, participate in a campfire session both nights, do arts and crafts, hike, participate in the teams course and hopefully go swimming!
Drop off begins at 4pm on Sunday at cardinal lodge.
Pick-up is at 4pm Tuesday at cardinal lodge front porch
The following are guidelines on how to pack. Please read carefully and note the items that are not allowed at camp
Clothing:
- Underwear (enough for each day plus at least one extra)
- Socks (enough for each day plus at least one extra)
- T-shirts or tops (one for each day)
- sweatshirt or light jacket
- Shorts
- Long pants (yoga,jeans)
- Raincoat or poncho
- Swimsuit
- Pajamas (one pair)
Gear
- Sturdy walking shoes that are closed-toed and have support
- Backpack for carrying items around camp
- Sleeping bag
- Pillow and pillowcase
- Mess Kit (plate, cup/bowl, utensils, mesh bag)
- Water bottle
Toiletries and Key Items:
- Medications, if applicable (see medication packing instructions below)
- Deodorant
- Insect repellent
- Sanitary napkins or tampons
- Lip balm or chapstick
- Shampoo and conditioner
- Towels (2) for swimming and showers
- Washcloth
- Toothpaste and toothbrush
- Comb or brush
- Sunscreen (SPF 15 or higher)
- Bandana or hat
- Flashlight with extra batteries
- Shower shoes or flip-flops
Optional Items:
- Notebook/journal and pencil or pen
- Other toiletries as needed (extra contacts, contact solution, glasses, etc.)
- Stuffed animal or another comfort item
- Sunglasses
- Additional items to tie dye (white tee included in fee)
Items NOT ALLOWED at camp:
- Tobacco
- Alcohol
- Candy, food, or beverages (they attract bugs and other critters)
- Electronic devices*
- *Cell phones, iPods, tablets, and game devices will be confiscated if brought to camp and will be kept in the camp office until departure day. eReaders, such as Nooks and Kindles, may be brought for reading, but they will be confiscated if seen being used for playing games or using the internet.
